Those of you who know the book, The Medieval Bestiary will recognize the Pard. Pards were
feline animals with spotted coats that were known to be extremely fast,
considered as fast as cheetahs. Pards would mate with Lions and have
offspring that were Leopards. This is another one of my newer Henri Rousseau influenced paintings. I am working on 2 more at the moment.
This painting is done in ink and watercolor on Aqua Board and is 5″
by 7″. It is framed in a black shadow box frame and is for sale for
$250. To purchase click the PayPal link below.
It will be on display at The Art Stable Gallery Westport starting Saturday unless it finds a home sooner.

SITTING PRETTY!, OR NOT A SITTING DUCK!
This cockerel
is full of golds and bronzes and glows color. My buddy, the rooster, is
an 8″ by 8″ ink and watercolor on aqua board and is framed in a matching frame of greenish/brown that works beautifully. I love the colors of this chicken and think he would make a great
barn yard companion. I am experimenting with ornate borders around my
work and an toying, just toying, with making a children’s book of curious
creatures. I sure miss having Bantams living in our yard. Living in Arlington, MA
did not lend itself to keeping chickens although we managed to do so
for several years. I loved getting fresh eggs every morning.
Sitting Pretty is for sale for $125 plus $10 shipping. To see more of my work please go to: www.susanmedyn.com

I have been making these whimsical watercolors for 35 years and have just discovered aqua board. I will be posting some new works I have done on this material shortly.
This weather has been great for swimming and we have been trying to swim daily since Memorial Day. We have so many birds come to our feeders but this year the hummingbirds are preferring to go to the bee balm and other plants over the feeder. Enjoy the Fourth of July.
